Why a Cyber Café?
Nowadays, the Internet is as essential as the telephone was to past generations. It's easy to assume that everyone has a computer and Internet access. But the truth is that most people living in the nine isolated towns of the North Quabbin don't (see map). The Teen Cyber Café at YES was created by area teens in 2004 to help bridge this ’digital divide’. Our computer and multimedia facility provides educational and creative opportunities to help folks improve their computer and Internet literacy skills while getting connected to social, vocational, business, and educational opportunities.
